Final Projects Fashion Show and the Felicidad Duce Award to Rosa Clará

FASHION AWARD “FELICIDAD DUCE”

The “Felicidad Duce” award for professional achievement in fashion was also presented during the show.. In this eleventh edition, the prize for professional achievement goes to Rosa Clara, for having modernised classic gowns, adding class and elegance. She has developed a very sophisticated bridal look using excellent sewing techniques and creativity, with her studied choice of prestigious accessories which complete her bridal and other designs, as well as for the marvellous conceptuality of interior design and window dressing in her stores.

Mercedes Freixas, Honorable President of FD Moda and Liz Monfort representing Barcelona’s City Council presented the award to Elena Teindas, Commercial Director of Rosa Clara.

AWARD FOR THE BEST COLLECTIONS

At the end of the show, awards for the best collections of the students of Design and Visual Arts were presented, followed by the presentation of awards for the students of 2010/2011 specialising in Fashion Design.

The winners were:

Núria Pubill. First Prize for the students of Further Studies

Marta Huerta, Montse Ruiz and Charlotte Llamas, second prizes for the students of Further Studies.

Vanesa Parengo. First prize for the students on the Professional Training course

Francesca Virga. Second prize for the students on the Professional Training course

Creativity, innovation, vanguard, conceptuality, the coherence of the collection, choice of materials, colour, use of materials, commercial viability and the correct assembly of the pieces were the guidelines used by the judges when choosing the winning collections.

The judges met on the 17th of February, 2011. From 32 collections, 25 were selected as the best to be included in the show from the class of 2010/2011. The jury was made up of renowned professionals form the fashion industry such as:: Estefania Feu (Fashion Designer), Gabriel Torres (Fashion Designer), Gloria Casacuberta (Gratacós), Josep Abril (Fashion Designer), Karlota Laspalas (Fashion Designer), Manuel Bolaño (Fashion Designer), Oscar Visitación (Stylist and Art Director), Rosa Mª Pujol (Fashion Designer), Seila Sin H (Stylist), Silvia Viudas (Vice president at FD Moda) and Susana Rey (Fashion Designer).

The jury also included the Design Tutors, (Montse Pérez, Spastor, Susanne Hergenhahn y Zazo & Brull) and the Pattern Making Tutors, (Dolors Martínez, María Costa y Susanna Canalda).

Many different personalities from the fashion industry attended the event, along with representatives of fashion and textile companies, journalists, teachers as well as family and friends of all the designers who showed a high level of creativity and professionalism.
