Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design

The School of Design and Fashion Felicidad Duce is an authorized center by the Department d'Ensenyament of the Generalitat de Catalunya (code 08058398) to give official studies in Fashion Design.

These studies consist of 4 academic courses, of 60 ECTS credits each one, with a total of 240 ECTS credits, in accordance with the European credits transfer system.

Students may apply for exchanges with European universities and schools through the ERASMUS program.

They can also apply for general or mobility grants in the Ministry of Education throughout their training. To process this type of aid the school provides the necessary documentation.

On successful completion of the course, the student will be awarded his or her Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design.

Objectives

Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design general aim training qualified professionals in the field of design, able to understand, define and optimise products and design services in different areas, have a good command of scientific, technological and artistic knowledge and the methods and procedures associated with them, as well as creating artistic and cultural values in response to any social and technological changes that may occur.

The designer’s profile corresponds to a professionally trained person capable of conceiving, supporting and documenting a creative process through the command of theoretical and practical designing principles and projective methodology, someone able to incorporate different artistic languages, techniques and technologies into the correct materialization of messages, environments, and products with artistic and cultural significance.

Syllabus

The study plan consists of 4 academic courses (240 ECT credits), including elective subjects, a research project and external work experience, studies or workshops.

Students who complete this course will be able to develop their professional skills in different fields. The following are some of the fields in which students will be able to practice their professional skills, depending on their skills and interests: Communication, media, show and advertising consultancy; coolhunting; printed fabrics design; fashion design: textile, knitwear, accessories; costume design; window dressing and visual merchandising; styling; fashion projects and market research; fashion illustration; product and head purchaser; fashion marketing; pattern making, etc.
