Trends Research Workshop. Workshop in English
This workshop has been designed to learn how to research trends using techniques to identify major fashion customs and trends, analyzing and tracking urban emblems and materials. In addition to these aims, we will analyze world shaping events and forecast tomorrow’s fashion trends.
This 30 hour course aims to provide the students with the knowledge and techniques to develop a work method which observes, detects and analyzes the upcoming fashion trends. During the course the students will practice and develop their potential to become a cool hunter.
Objectives
At the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Outline and report the major consumer patterns in the geographical area subject to study.
- Design and direct a series of investigations to determine changes in the major consumer patterns in the fashion industry.
- Discern the influences that are responsible for changing fashion trends.
- Recognise the relationship between the mainstream and the cool phenomenon.
- Interpret information accumulated through a variety of techniques in order to identify fashion trends in examples.
Syllabus
History: study of the origins of cool hunting in order to identify future consumer and fashion trends.
Urban investigation techniques: specific tools and techniques to develop the analysis and direction of the upcoming trends.
Cool hunting report techniques: basic skills for reporting or creating a project based on investigation.
Active field research: learning how to detect and observe the new street trends.
(*) This includes outings to the city in order to keep up to date with the fashion sector.
