Fashion Illustration
Nowadays an illustration can sell a product just as successfully as a photograph. An illustrator’s job is to create an image which meets the client’s expectations and at the same time transmits a message.
This course is for students and design professionals, and aims to show the possibilities offered by the manual techniques of the fashion world as well as developing one´s own criteria in order to exploit one´s potential skills in the art ofexpression.
We will learn and identify the visual language of illustration and we will also see the different characteristics of the diverse locations where illustration may be found: editorial, press, multimedia, publicity etc.
We can also offer the guest participation of a specialist illustrator who will introduce the student to his/her work method.
Objectives

Syllabus
Introduction to form, adjustment and volume
A practical module in which the student learns the basic principles of life drawing and freehand, the idea of the volume and form, in order to represent any type of reality on paper.
Manual techniques
A practical module in which we work on different techniques: watercolour, coloured pencil, pastel, Chinese ink…….. we will experiment with mixed and complementary techniques.
Conceptualisation and Project
A more intuitive module in which the student will develop an idea from a concept and begin to work on the creative process incorporating concrete tasks.
Professional directives
A unit geared towards professional orientation where we will work on market possibilities, ways of working the circuit, with emphasis on how to present a portfolio.
