Fashion Illustration
Nowadays, an illustration can sell a product with the same success as a photograph. An illustrator’s job consists of creating an image that fulfills the client’s expectations and, at the same time, is capable of transmitting a message.
This course is aimed at design students and professionals, and its objective is to let them know about the possibilities offered by manual techniques in the fashion illustration world, and to develop their own opinions in order to increase their immediate plastic expression ability.
They will learn how to identify the illustration’s visual language and they will also study the different features depending on the different spaces in which an illustration may appear: editing company, press, multimedia, publicity, etc.
A specialist illustrator will take part in the course ,who will introduce the student to his/her work methodology.

Syllabus
Introduction to shape, fit and volume
A practical unit in which the student will learn the basic principles of natural and raised manual illustrations, the concept of volume and shape, to be able to represent any reality on paper.
Manual techniques
Practical unit where different techniques will be used: watercolour, crayon, pastel colour, Indian ink…Experimentation with mixed and complementary techniques.
Conceptualisation and project
Intuitive unit where the student will work from a concept to develop an idea and start working on creative processes for specific orders.
Professional guidelines
Unit designed as a professional orientation where the student will work on market possibilities, ways of working on the fashion circuit, giving special importance to the different ways of presenting a portfolio
