Hat Design and Hat Making
A few decades ago, forgetting your hat was as unusual as forgetting your bag. Today, this accessory seems to have fallen into disuse, yet it is still important on certain occasions because it is functional and is still worn at some social events.
Hat making is important on the fashion scene. It is a profession that demands great esthetic sensitivity, solid technical support and a high level of awareness of current fashions. Professionals working in this sector must be aware of what sets a trend at all times.
This course is aimed at people with basic knowledge in design, pattern making and sewing and they will learn to make a series of hats using different materials: felt, straw, fabric…. The student will make cork patterns with the suggested designs and will learn the how to make the pattern.
Objectives
To provide the student with the basic techniques to produce hats, in a feasible way and without the need for a complicated technological infrastructure, to be able to complement a fashion collection.
