Print Design
This course’s aim is to teach the basic concepts about manual printing to design students and to all those who want to start studying print design.
In this course we will learn about the different artistical expression techniques used in manual print design, and how to use different dyes. We will apply different kinds of materials together with paint to obtain different kinds of textures. And we will learn about different print techniques: direct, silk screen, reservation, linoleum.

Syllabus
Introduction to gouache, making of even consistency surfaces, palettes, gradients, etc.
Indian ink, applications and uses. Oriental techniques
Watercolours, applications and uses. Use of different kinds of Watercolours, ecolines, pigments, etc.
Printing/absortion. Reservations: reversible, irreversible
Natural dyes: design making following steps and/or former techniques to apply them to different elements
Silk screen: screen or pattern made from an original
Batik: batik creation in 4 colours with cotton tissue and pipette
Direct print: natural silk handkerchief print
Linoleum: pattern and different designs creations
